As you have surely noticed, it’s getting a bit cooler outside, which for many of us means a much higher energy bill.

Mid-American Energy wants customers to know about a free option to save on those higher bills. It’s called an energy audit.

Make an appointment and an auditor will come to your house to check out several things: they’ll see if your heating and air systems are running efficiently, they’ll also check around your windows and doors to see if any cold air will get through and they’ll top it off with checking your insulation.

Not only is the visit free, but you’ll get more efficient shower heads and light bulbs for no charge.

It’s all aimed to help save you money on your bill during our chilly winter.

”Three things you should probably look for in your house. I would look for your insulation depth, your systems sand then your windows. Windows and doors because if they’re leaky – all they might need is caulking to weather stripping,” says Cory Amos an energy auditor.

To sign up for an audit, call 888-427-5632.
